Nepal’s Beishahar Municipality is all set to hold its first Canoeing Festival 2076 BS between August 23-24, 2019.
The organizers of the event are holding the even around the 70ft-long Gaikhure falls along the Dumre Beishahar road stretch.
According to the Environment Improvement Campaign Chair Rishi Basnet, the event is being organized to contribute to Visit Nepal 2020’s success.
Event host Basnet that said all the preparatory works for the festival are complete. The event will also be witness to performances from local artists and a DJ.
The event management is expecting a footfall of about 10,000-15,000 visitors from different parts of Nepal. The estimated cost of festival operation is NPR 4.5 million.
On a promising note, 2020 will mark the beginning of international canoeing in the region native to Nepal, creating an attraction for more and more tourists.
