Nepal Reports 464 New COVID-19 Cases, 5 Deaths!

The coronavirus caseload in Nepal has crossed 22,000 mark on Friday after 464 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

With the recent additions, the total number of coronavirus positive cases in the country has reached 22, 214. Among the new cases, 106 were reported from within Kathmandu Valley, raising the alarm across the country.

In response, the three District Administration Offices (DAO) in Valley have decided to suspend all non-essential services for the next 15 days. The DAOs have decided to seal the highly infected areas in the Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts.

Following the recovery from the infection, 425 patients were discharged from hospitals across the country, taking the total recoveries to 15, 814. Currently, there are 6,330 actives cases in the country.

Unfortunately, five patients have lost lives due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the highest single-day spike in deaths. With this, the coronavirus death toll in Nepal reached 70.

The recent COVID-19 deaths are as follows

• 45-year-old man from Birgunj
• 79-year-old man from Birgunj
• 57-year-old man from Birgunj
• 25-year-old man from Siraha
• 45-year-old man from Sarlahi

In a turn of good events, six districts have no active coronavirus cases, currently. They are Khotang, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, and Rukum West.

Meanwhile, four districts, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, and Kathmandu, have reported over 500 active cases.
