Even though there are minuscule number of coronavirus cases in the country, the Nepali Government is striving to procure adequate medical equipment in advance.
Lately, the Nepali Government has procured 10,000 PCR test kits from Singapore’s Temasek Foundation to increase the testing capacity.
The kits known as ‘Fortitude Kit 2.0’ were designed by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*START), Singapore to detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The kit includes all the essential materials required for the reaction, including primer probes mix, enzyme mix, positive control, negative control and internal control template.
An airbus of Shree Airlines has airlifted the medical equipment from Singapore and reached the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on April 24, 2020.
So far, Nepal has reported 48 coronavirus infection cases and zero death cases.
