Govt. Extends Prohibitory Order in Kathmandu Valley By a Week!

According to the Nepali Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), around 1,120 new coronavirus infection cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s caseload to 41,649.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,112 patients were discharged from the various hospitals across the country on Wednesday, taking the total recoveries to 23,290. The recovery rate stands at 56%.

Unfortunately, 12 patients have lost their lives while undergoing treatment. With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reached 251.

 

Currently, 10,493 patients are in quarantine centers, and 7,615 are in home isolation.

Govt. Extends Prohibitory Order in Kathmandu Valley

The Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur have decided to extend the ongoing prohibitory order in the Kathmandu Valley until September 9, 2020.

With this, services and businesses other than essential ones will not be allowed to operate in the Valley until September 9. The latest development comes on the heels of the growing threat of community-level coronavirus transmission in the Kathmandu Valley.

In the past 24 hours, the Kathmandu Valley has reported 388 new infection cases.
