The Safal Pokhara International Marathon 2018, with the theme “Run for Health, Run for Pokhara”, received a tremendous response with over 3000 participants.

Bhumiraj Rai, representing the Nepal Police Club, won the 12th Safal Pokhara International Marathon at the Pokhara Rangashala on February 19, 2018.
Hari Kumar Rimal and Lal Bahadur Thapa from the Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) finished second and third, respectively.
The event, organized by the by Ex-Players Forum Nepal, attracted around 3,000 runners in various categories. The theme of the event was “Run for Health, Run for Pokhara”.
The men’s 10-km race was swept by TAC, with Ramji Banset, Kalyan Baniya and Milan Karki finishing on the podium. The women’s 10-km race saw Nepal APF Club’s Bindra Dhanke Shrestha and Swostika Shrestha win the gold and bronze medals, respectively while TAC’s Sarita Basi took home the silver.
Sagar Shrestha of Jaycees School, Manish Karki of Daffodil School and Madan Oli of Shree Jana Sewa School won the top three positions in the boy’s 5-km race. In the girls’ category, Lalita Lamichhane of Laxmi Secondary School, Madhuri Devi Nakarmi of Sahid Smriti School and Kriti Thapa of Shishu Kalyan School finished in the top 3.
Suresh Gauli and Laxmi Sunar took the top honors in the 400-m wheelchair race in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
Ashish Khadgi and Maya Gautam topped the men’s and women’s sections in the 100-m race for visually-impaired athletes.
